Injured in Miami

Miami crashes concentrate where the expressways meet the street grid: the Midtown Interchange, where I-95, I-395, and SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway) stack together; the SR 836 ramps by Miami International Airport at Le Jeune Road and NW 57th Avenue; and US-1 through downtown, where Biscayne Boulevard feeds SE 2nd Avenue and the Brickell Avenue Bridge over the Miami River. The badly hurt go to Jackson Memorial Hospital, a Level I trauma center. Suits are filed at the Osvaldo N. Soto Miami-Dade Justice Center. Pino Law Firm works these files from Orlando, in English or Spanish.

I-95

I-95 is the north to south spine and feeds the Midtown Interchange, the four level stack where I-95, I-395, and SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway) all meet. Conflicts repeat at the downtown exits for NW 8th Street, NW 3rd Avenue at NW 2nd Street, and the SW 7th and 8th Street ramps toward Brickell Avenue.

SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway)

The tolled east to west expressway runs along the south side of Miami International Airport, with interchanges at NW 57th Avenue (Red Road), Le Jeune Road (NW 42nd Avenue), NW 27th Avenue, and NW 17th Avenue. Rebuilding work between NW 17th Avenue and the Midtown Interchange keeps moving lanes and merge points.

US-1 (Biscayne Boulevard) and Brickell Avenue

US-1 follows the bayfront as Biscayne Boulevard, doglegs through downtown onto SE 2nd Avenue, and crosses the Miami River on the Brickell Avenue Bridge, where the street becomes Brickell Avenue and Calle Ocho arrives from Little Havana as SE 8th Street. Pedestrians, valet traffic, and turning cars share the same few blocks.

Miami questions

Where is my Miami injury case filed?

Injury lawsuits from Miami and the rest of Miami-Dade County are filed in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. Circuit civil cases are now heard at the Osvaldo N. Soto Miami-Dade Justice Center at 20 NW 1st Avenue in downtown Miami, which replaced the 1928 courthouse at 73 West Flagler Street. Most claims settle before a suit is filed, but we build every file as if it will be tried there.

Which Miami roads see the most crashes?

The heaviest conflict points are the Midtown Interchange where I-95, I-395, and SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway) come together, the SR 836 airport ramps at Le Jeune Road and NW 57th Avenue, and US-1 downtown, where Biscayne Boulevard, the Brickell Avenue Bridge, and the downtown end of Calle Ocho feed the same few blocks. The ongoing I-395 and SR 836 rebuild keeps shifting lanes and merge points. Get treated first, then call before you give a recorded statement.

Your office is in Orlando. Can you still handle my Miami case?

Yes. The firm's attorneys are admitted to practice throughout Florida, and Pino Law Firm handles Miami-Dade claims from its Orlando office at 450 S Orange Avenue. Medical records, treatment coordination, the demand package, negotiation with the adjuster, and the filing in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit run the same regardless of county, and we travel for depositions, hearings, and trial. The whole file is handled in English or Spanish.
